Curriculum Vitae

Melanie studied English and French at the universities of Hanover and Kiel. During her studies she spent a year both in Normandy, France, and in Angus, Scotland, where she worked as a PAD assistant, teaching at two Lycées in France and training Primary Teachers in the Modern Languages in the Primary School (MLPS) programme in Scotland. She finished her studies with the First State Exam with a thesis on Middle English Phraseology: Native Developments and Foreign Influences.

Working as a full-time research assistant and lecturer at the chair of English linguistics at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Melanie started her PhD on Historical English Phraseology.
